PEACE!

In the hustle and bustle of this Christmas season, take time for peace, take time for reflection, take time to look for the Christ child.  He is the reflection of God – his one way to earthly peace and eternal salvation. Join your family at All Souls as we seek after this peace together!
Hope you see you soon!   Feel free to pass on your Weekly All Souls Good News to a Friend!  Seeing this for the first time?  Click on “JOIN OUR MAILING LIST” over on the left hand blue column to get this directly to your email.

This weeks readings:

Take time to mediate on God’s word and prepare for worship this Sunday.

Isaiah 40:1-5, 9-11

Psalm 85:8-13

2 Peter 3:8-15

Mark 1:1-8

2 Peter 3:14

Therefore, beloved, while you are waiting for these things, strive to be found by him at peace.

Last week, in this section of our weekly email, we  focused on Mark and his mention of the final times – and to be ready.  This week in 2nd Peter – we are again reminded of the 2nd coming – and this is part of the last exhortation – to not only be ready – but be a peace. As Christians we are afforded this peace because if we have asked for forgiveness and sought after purity and godliness, we know that the 2nd coming will be a joyous occasion for us. Those only who are clothed with the righteousness of Christ, and sanctified by the Holy Ghost, shall be admitted to dwell in this holy place. Those, whose sins are pardoned, and their peace made with God, are the only safe and happy people; therefore follow after peace, and that with all men; follow after holiness as well as peace.  This Christmas season – seek to know Christ more clearly, and more fully; to know him so as to be more like him, and to love him better.
