This weeks readings and question of the week:
Take time to mediate on God’s word and prepare for worship this Sunday. And as you meditate on them, consider the Question of the Week:
What “work of darkness” do I need to throw off? What “armor of light” do I need to put on to ensure that I am “awake” and “prepared” for the hour of the Lord’s coming?

Isiah 2:1-5
Psalm 122:1-9
Romans 13:11-14
Matthew 24: 37-34

Romans 13:11

Sisters and brothers:
You know the time;
it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep.
For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed;
the night is advanced, the day is at hand.

Four things are here taught, as a Christian’s directory for his day’s work. When to awake; Now; and to awake out of the sleep of carnal security, sloth, and negligence; out of the sleep of spiritual death, and out of the sleep of spiritual deadness. Considering the time; a busy time; a perilous time. Also the salvation nigh at hand. Let us mind our way, and mend our pace, we are nearer our journey’s end. Also to make ourselves ready. The night is far spent, the day is at hand; therefore it is time to dress ourselves. Observe what we must put off; clothes worn in the night. Cast off the sinful works of darkness. Observe what we must put on; how we should dress our souls. Put on the armour of light. A Christian must reckon himself undressed, if unarmed. The graces of the Spirit are this armour, to secure the soul from Satan’s temptations, and the assaults of this present evil world. Put on Christ; that includes all. Put on righteousness of Christ, for justification. Put on the Spirit and grace of Christ, for sanctification. The Lord Jesus Christ must be put on as Lord to rule you as Jesus to save you; and in both, as Christ anointed and appointed by the Father to this ruling, saving work

COOKIE BAKE – December 10 –
6:00 pm – Pine Room

Our annual cookie bake is always a GREAT time. So get your recipes ready and make plans to join us on Saturday, December 10.

Pre-make your dough and bring any toppings you need. We will then work together to bake the cookies, while we share in some food, music, and games. So many cookies to trade and share that you’ll be all set for Christmas!

Christmas Eve Recital

Do you sing? Do you play an instrument?
Or know someone who does?
We are currently seeking musicians who would like to be a part of our Christmas Eve Recital. This will start at 11:30 pm ahead of the candlelight service. We need musicians to simply play or sing one song.
If interested please see Joe or any board member.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU

Do you have opinions? Suggestions?

The board is always seeking feedback on liturgy, ministries, how we are communicating, and more.
But we also understand that not everyone likes to talk face to face or can come to a board meeting. So we have a survey that you can download, complete, and then turn in anonymously (so don’t put your name on it).
These were handed out at the Annual Meeting and have also been available at each the service. But if you didn’t get one yet, you can download it using the link below.

Please tear off the last page. This page is about how you can volunteer and maybe get involved in other areas of All Souls. So with the last page – tear it off and please put your name on it, so we can contact you.

Please return all surveys and ministry forms by Christmas Eve. THANK YOU!

How are you doing answering this past week’s question of the week?

When and how do I intend to ask Jesus daily, “Jesus, remember me in your kingdom”? How can I help those in need remember how completely and mercifully Jesus always loves them?
