A Welcoming Family of Faith!

My sisters and brothers in Christ,

Our Easter journey continues tonight with Good Friday, which commemorates our Lord’s Passion and His death on the cross, the ultimate proof of His love despite human betrayal and treachery. Then we hope you can join us for Holy Saturday Vigil, beginning in stunned silence and darkness and ending in exultation that CHRIST IS RISEN, ALLELUIA!

Happy and Blessed Easter!!!

This weeks readings and question of the week:

Take time to mediate on God’s word and prepare for worship this Sunday. And as you meditate on them, consider the Question of the Week: How will I bring the reality of having met the Risen Jesus in word, Eucharist and others to those who may never have encountered the transforming power of his compassionate love?

Acts 10:34a, 37-43

Psalm 118:1-2, 16-17, 22-23

Colossians 3:1-4

Matthew 28:1-10

After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning,
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
And behold, there was a great earthquake;
for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven,
approached, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.
His appearance was like lightning
and his clothing was white as snow.
The guards were shaken with fear of him
and became like dead men.
Then the angel said to the women in reply,
“Do not be afraid!
I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified.
He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said.
(Matthew 28: 1-6)

When Jesus rose from the dead, he conquered sin and death. Jesus’ resurrection proved that what he had taught was correct. He used his ultimate authority when he gave the Great Commission, but showed his unlimited power by promising to be with his followers forever.
