SAVE THE DATE! – Monday, March 2

All Souls will be hosting for A Good Thyme for Life on Monday, March 2nd. We will be at Café Folino from

8 AM – 2 PM and then at Mangia! Italian Restaurant from 4 PM – 8 PM.

Please start collecting your raffle baskets! We have letters to give to businesses when you solicit baskets or donations. If you have any questions, please see any board member.

If you have items to donate, but don’t have a basket or have a basket – but not good at wrapping it! Fear not – we have extra baskets and some experts at wrapping the baskets! Or if you have places that you shop, you can ask for gift certificates or other donations, (or Christmas gifts to “re-gift”) and we can combine these with other baskets/donations.

A Prayer for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Gracious God,

We thank You for the life and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose dream called us to see one another as You see us—equal, beloved, and worthy of dignity.

Today, we remember Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s struggle for equality, justice, and dignity for African Americans that inspired so many other reform movements that seek to highlight the plight of the oppressed in society. We pray that all of those in civil and religious authority be reminded that we all have been created in your image, and that there is an intrinsic dignity in each of us that calls for uplifting every man and woman, young and old.

Grant us the courage to speak truth in the face of injustice, the patience to work for peace without losing hope, and the compassion to love even when it is difficult. Help us to build bridges where there are walls, to listen where there is silence, and to act where there is need.

May Dr. King’s dream live on in our hearts and in our hands, until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

Amen.
