A Welcoming Family of Faith!
September 5, 2014
ITS ALMOST HERE!!! Our HOMECOMING WEEKEND is just around the corner. I hope you have marked your calendar to come to our first pot luck on Saturday, September 13 at 6 pm. to celebrate our 5th Anniversary as a parish! Our “Homecoming” Mass will be the following day, Sunday September 14 at 1 pm. We hope our current parishoners, any members who have moved away or lost contact, any of friends and visitors who have been a part of All Souls in anyway over the past 5 years, will come to one or both of these events and help us celebrate. We would love to see your smiling face, give you a hug, and share in God’s grace and love with you. Bring a friend or two with you as well – we are ALL SOULS, all are welcome!
This Sunday’s worship will be led by one of our Lay Assistants, Ben Renkus. Our Lay Assistants are licensed by our Bishop to lead worship. This Sunday’s service will follow the pattern of Morning Prayer as found in the Book of Common Prayer. Thanks to Ben for leading worship, to Wendy for putting our Morning Prayer bulletin together, and for the Worship Committee for thier planning and support!
We have also just learned that Joe DiCindeo’s father passed away this morning. James V DiCindio was 93 years old. Funeral arrangements are pending at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe and his family.
Hope you see you soon! Feel free to pass on your Weekly Newletter to a Friend!
Have a blessed week! – Jerry
|This weeks readings:|
Take time to mediate on God’s word and prepare for worship this Sunday.
- Come, let us sing to the Lord;Let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving
and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.
- How great is our God! How amazing is his love and grace to us! Even when we are at our lowest times – he is with us, he never slumbers or sleeps. He gives us blessings we cannot count and never lets us suffer more than we are able with his help. SO YES! SING TO THE LORD! SHOUT FOR JOY! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME! ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD!
- So right now – as you read this, give him praise! Every day, sing to the Lord. Then join us in worship – no matter what your voice sounds like, no matter how you praise him, lets be joyful in our worship.
As announced a nominating committee has been formed to select nominees for openings on the All Souls Board of Directors. Prayer Requests/Community Concerns & Praises
We love sharing our concerns and praises with each other during worship. It allows us as a family of faith to share our struggles, pray for our needs, and give praise for God’s grace. We hope that you also take the weekly list of prayer requests from the bulletin and continue to pray over the list during your devotions.
We will have prayer request forms in the pews with the offering envelopes. Please fill this out as your preparing for worship. Then when its time for Community Concerns; hand these to the clergy who will then place them on the alter to offer them up to God during the prayer time. This will also allow us to add the new requests and praises to our prayer list. If you can’t be in worship – please feel free to send prayer requests to be added to our printed list to the church email address.
We have added a link “Prayer Requests” to the “Links to” section to the left. Please click on this for an updated prayer list.
