The weekly Newsletter of
ALL SOULS ECC
A Welcoming Family of Faith!
January 14, 2016
The new year has been a tough start for many of our All Souls family.  But we also recognize the many blessings that God has provided.  We hope you will join us on Saturday for our Game Night Pot Luck as we fellowship as a family and then Sunday as we worship and celebrate the Eucharist.
Please take the time to read the articles and information in this week’s “GOOD NEWS” including clicking on our prayer list and pray for the requests there. Feel free to forward this newsletter to a family member or friend, or share it on your facebook page or twitter by using the “like” and “share” icons at the top of the page.

This weeks readings and question of the week:
Take time to mediate on God’s word and prepare for worship this Sunday.  And as you meditate on them, consider the Question of the Week:

For whom do I need to intercede this week?  What is Jesus telling me to do that life’s water might be transformed into the wine of God’s mercy and love.

Isaiah 62:1-5

Psalm 36:5-13

1 Corinthians 12:4-11
John 2:1-11
1 Corinthians 12:4-11
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses.
The Holy Spirit is not just for church leaders. The Spirit is God, even as the Father and the Son are God. But there are not three Gods; there is only one God. He, God, is working by his Spirit among his people.
So, evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work can appear in the life of any Christian. In fact, that evidence should appear in every Christian’s life, because every Christian should allow the Holy Spirit to guide him (Galatians 5:16).
However, the Holy Spirit does not work in the same way in every Christian’s life. He gives different gifts to each person; each person serves Christ in different ways (12:4-5). This is necessary because Christians should work together to do God’s work. It is important because the honour for God’s work belongs to God, and not to any person.

       HOSPITALITY UPDATE:
Jay and Jasmine have volunteered to take over as Hospitality Coordinators! Wendy, Val and Danny will assist them but we still need other volunteers to help out. If you would like to help out with our hospitality ministry before and/or after service please see Jay, Jasmine or Wendy.
We can still use some help with transportation ministry as well.  If your willing to pick up parishioners from time to time and bring them to church, please let Jerry know.  This is a great way to build friendships – its amazing how you can get to know someone or a family with a short 10 minute drive.

How are you doing answering this  past week’s
question of the week?
In our actions, words and deeds this week, how will we live up to being “beloved daughters and sons with whom the Father is well pleased”?
