This weeks readings and question of the week:

Take time to mediate on God’s word and prepare for worship this Sunday. And as you meditate on them, consider the Question of the Week:

What can I do to make someone feel that they belong again to the family of God’s people? Who among my beloved departed should I make a conscious effort to imitate because of their faithful lives?

1 John 3:1
See what love the Father has bestowed on us
that we may be called the children of God.

The thought of being born of God (1Jn 2:29) arrests John with wonder and he calls on his readers to take a look at the wonderful love that brought us into the family of God. Love could have saved us without making us children of God. But the manner of God’s love is shown in that he brought us into His family as children.

The dynamic reality of the new life (1Jn 3:1-2). Having become members of God’s family through the new birth, believers find that their new life has deep present as well as future significance. John calls upon his readers to contemplate the amazing reality of present membership in God’s family (1Jn 3:1a), reminds them that this explains the reaction of the world toward them (1Jn 3:1b), and stresses that this new life as God’s children has present and future implications (1Jn 3:2). Annual Meeting – Sunday, November 6 – 2:30 pm

annualmeetingAll Souls Annual Meeting takes place each year on our Feast Day. It is a time for us to reflect on the past year, set some goals for the future, and enjoy the blessings of God on All Souls.

We will also have some official business, such as a report from the ECC Synod, budget report, and election of board members. We will be also asking for your feedback!

This does serve as our POT-LUCK for November. The Board will be providing hamburgers and hotdogs. You are invited to bring side dishes, snacks, drinks, and deserts!

Join us for our Feast Day on Sunday, November 6 for our 1:00 service. We will remember the Saints and all Souls that have gone before us. This is followed by our Annual Meeting in the Pine Room.
