A Service of Service

Sunday, October 11

Jesus taught that greatness is found in serving others. On Sunday, October 11 we will be doing just that.

We will be stacking firewood, doing other yard work, and visiting and fellowshipping with Kent and MaryAnn. Everyone is welcome! Wear your work clothes (and gloves if you have them) if you want to work outside. Or bring your stories and spirit of sharing to have conversations with Kent and MaryAnn inside with some food and drinks.

Will meet at 12 pm and work for about two hours: 400 Westley Road, Mohnton, PA 19540

Please see Martin in church on October 4 or text (410-948-0721) him to let him know if you will be joining in our “Service of Service” and if you will meet us there or if you want to carpool from the church.

We will once again be collecting items for Berks Coalition to End Homelessness. For the month of September, we will be collecting the following items:

BARTA Bus Passes

Canned Fruits

Canned Vegetables

Items can be placed in the collection box in the vestibule

Prayer before service: 10 minutes (when candles are lit) before mass, we ask for silent reverence and prayer in the Chapel. And please set all phones to SILENT or OFF. Thank you.

Prayer for Peace:

O Divine Spirit of peace and love,

We come together today to honor the sacred gift of life and the hope for a world free from conflict and fear.

Guide us to speak with kindness, act with compassion, and heal wounds wherever they exist.

May our thoughts and actions cultivate understanding among peoples, nations, and communities.

Let differences unite us in dialogue instead of division, and may justice and mercy prevail in every heart.

Bless those who work tirelessly to bring reconciliation and harmony, and inspire each of us to be instruments of peace in our daily lives.

May forgiveness replace anger, and hope triumph over despair.

Grant that on this International Day of Peace, the light of love overcomes darkness, and every voice joins in a chorus of harmony and goodwill toward all.

Amen.
